Haas Automation is the largest machine tool builder in the western world, manufacturing a complete line of CNC vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, CNC lathes, and rotary products.
Objective
With its enterprise wide data analytics project, HASS Automation aimed to:
Generate insights about availability with a state-of-the-art analytics system
Empower the workforce with role-based access to data and insights at a granular level at its fingertips
Centralize its data management and expedite delivery to clients
Key Challenges
HAAS needed a way to increase flexibility and responsiveness for their sales channels whose customers needed last minute orders fulfilled.
HAAS had to be able to look at their inventory, Work in Progress and machine floor schedule to determine if they could deliver.
With dozens of different types of machines, cutting head types, and multiple variations the permutations were enormous. Using a conventional SQL database and reporting tools consistently crashed the system and was unable to produce any reports that could help.

Solutions
A sidecar SAP HANA database with a custom report solved the problem. The database of hundreds of variations combined with complex variant configuration was all managed through the SAP HANA solution. It provided HAAS the insights they needed to do advanced Available to Promise (ATP), giving their sales team, the flexibility and responsiveness they needed to get an edge in the market.

After understanding their needs and Bramasol built a reporting platform based on SAP HANA to deliver the insights and reporting required.
